I've experienced a similar hang up to Beta 1 whenever I tried to boot
the LiveCD (haven't tested Beta 2 yet). However, I only got the Glib
message in Alpha 3. Removing quiet splash makes it work, so I believe
this is a Plymouth issue.

I'd also suggest that this bug be marked critical, as one reply stated,
this is a showstopper. It doesn't matter how awesome Lucid is, if a user
can't even boot the LiveCD on a relatively new computer. Also, greater
attention should be given to so-called duplicates, there is likely more
than one issue at play here.
