What happens if you want upgrade from Karmic to Lucid and you have installed network-manager-kde and kubuntu-desktop in your system? Kubuntu-desktop wants install plasma-widget-networkmanagement but it conflicts with network-manager-kde installed in your system since I think it used by default in Karmic.... this cause upgrade block. I mean, apt-get dist-upgrade can't resolve this situation.
