a few days of testing passed and the "vanilla" 1.7.4 from the unstable
PPA is mostly usable on stock lucid (amd64). but i noticed that on high
CPU load and low I/O (kernel compilation) the "vanilla" one gets
unresponsive and updating feeds gets really slow. in the same situation
the "hacked" build from my PPA stays responsive and update speed is
okay. i don't understand the differnce as HDD usage is really low, but
seems like high CPU load alone triggers a penalty regarding disc access
with "vanilla". so i am staying with the hack ;(
