Thanks for the ars technica link. Yes, we've been following this closely since the last year or so. In terms of hardware, Optimus seems to be going mainstream now, but with ATI you can also put the discrete card to sleep. Dave Airlie's vga_switcheroo code does some of this hot switching, and it has entered 2.6.34. But we want to achieve the same level of functionality in Windows 7 and OSX.
