This bug affects me also. I can collect the data, but it probably won't let me submit info to this bug - should I open a new one and run apport- collect against it?
The CD-ROM drive closes after a few seconds if I open it, and if I do manage to insert a 2nd CD it doesn't mount - I can't even mount it using sudo commands.
