Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

Hi.

I have the following problem on Ubuntu Lucid (beta), X86:

I am using gnome-network-manager to assing an IP alias to my eth0 device.
As I can see, the IP address is assigned to the interface: in answers to ping,
and I can run sockets over this IP.
But I can't even imagine how to view the IP from the command line.
I have been trying with "ifconfig" to check an interface such as eth0:1, but it
doesn't exist.
I have been trying "ifconig -a": same result as above.
I issued the command: ip link show: same result as above.

Is there something I miss, is there something wrong with network-
manager, or command line tools?

p.s.: do you need any attachment/screenshot? I think this issue can be
checked really quickly, just by going to the network applet and
assigning extra IPs.
