I understand that this bug is closed for the reason stated by Geir but I am having a similar problem to the one as stated by Torstein . When I play with water effects in Compiz, X crashes, logs me out of the desktop and brings me back to the login in screen. Is this the same bug? And if so I am willing to install mainline kernel as advised above but am worried that this might make my system unusable as Ubuntu specific drivers are not included. If I install the mainline kernel will I have wireless connectivity or ethernet? If you could advise I would be willing to test
