I think you removed nvidia-common and, as a result, Jockey is unable to show 
the nvidia drivers which are compatible with your card. This, however, has a 
very little to do with the bug described here. Furthermore installing the 
driver from the command line is not enough.
Please follow these steps:
1) remove nvidia-current
2) install nvidia-common
3) try Jockey again and see how it goes
