Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

Tried to activate Desktop Effects on notebook Toshiba Satellite A210,
with ATI X1200m (RS690M).

The dialogue crashes (does not react any longer), but doesn't give any
error (on gnome, on console saying "no driver / or already activated)

Starting the gnome-appearance-properties via gdb and closing it with STRG+C
ends with a corrupt desktop (no window decorations).
