I'm getting this in Karmic:

FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.31-20-generic/modules.dep: No such file
or directory
Unable to find a medium containing a live file system.

...and then I get kicked to an "(initramfs)" prompt.

I used ubuntu-9.10-desktop-i386.iso to populate the USB stick with usb-
creator. While running off of it, I updated the Software Sources to
grab files from the 'net, ran Update Manager to update all packages and
then rebooted when it asked me to do so. Rather than getting an updated
system, I got the above error message.

** Changed in: usb-creator (Ubuntu)
