Public bug reported: Binary package hint: vino
Not sure if this should be filed against vino ("Remote Desktop") or nm- applet. When running System->Preferences->Remote Desktop, checking and then unchecking "Allow others to view your desktop" causes nm-applet to shut off (or crash, or stall, or something) so that wireless no longer functions. Restarting nm-applet from a terminal brings the internet back up. I would expect that checking & unchecking the "allow others to view your desktop" box would not hinder *my* connection to others, just *their* connection to me. If the "bug" that I am experiencing is indeed the default behavior, some notification of what needs to be done to restore connectivity should be given.
