Oh. Sorry, of course I know why this job isn't being run; you have cryptsetup installed, which means plymouth is started from the initramfs, which means we never see a 'started plymouth' event because upstart knows it's already started.
So since 'plymouth show-splash' is being called from the initramfs, the problem is that these devices that should be created in your initramfs have not been. Do you have any non-default settings under /etc/initramfs-tools? Can you post the output of 'zcat /boot/initrd.img | cpio -t'? ** Summary changed: - No graphic splash using nouveau driver (although framebuffer is used after boot/shutdown) + can't find framebuffer in initramfs (cryptsetup) with nouveau driver -- can't find framebuffer in initramfs (cryptsetup) with nouveau driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/551108 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
