Thanks very much for your efforts and for letting me know the result. I have not solved the problem and still do not really understand the cause, but I have worked-around it by using the "ignore existing" option for my photos, as I do not usually edit photos, and when I do I save them under a different filename. This reduces the volume dramatically, so that it´s not too much of a problem on the once-a-year occasion when the clocks change. This aside, generally I find grsync very helpful and easy to use.
