Manually removing the snd_hda_intel module, then modprobing it with the model=3stack option returned my audio levels to normal. I think the addition of the new model entries in patch_realtek.c may have caused problems, at least on my system. Wish I had the expertise to perhaps provide a more permanent fix. (note, my sound card is a Realtek ALC861 on a Toshiba Satellite A105-S4384) Hopefully this helps the reporter as well. (I found information about the model= option here: http://alsa.opensrc.org/Hda
