Public bug reported: Binary package hint: thunderbird
Hi there :) I am testing thunderbird from the lucid repos (version 3.0.4) and it works pretty well. Its only not compatible with the enigmail package (synaptic tells me to remove thunderbird to install enigmail ... ) as well as the lightning extension from the repos is not usable. The adblock plus extension from the repos works perfectly. I am on a up to date lucid amd64 with standard repos. Now to the real problem: It seems that somehow it is not possible to use many extensions (when downloaded directly and not via the repos) because of a version conflict. When i try to install any extension i get the following: "Enigmail" konnte nicht installiert werden, da es nicht mit dem Thunderbird-Build-Typ (Linux_x86_64-gcc3) kompatibel ist. Bitte informieren Sie den Autor des Add-ons über dieses Problem." Translated to english: "Enigmail" could not be installed because it is not compatible with thunderbird buildtype (Linux_x86_64-gcc3). Please inform the author ... The real issue i see here is gcc3 ???? After all, lucid uses a more ... up to date gcc: gcc --version gcc (Ubuntu 4.4.3-4ubuntu5) 4.4.3 Copyright (C) 2009 Free Software Foundation, Inc. So i think this could probably be a packaging issue. ** Affects: thunderbird (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Many extensions are not useable with thunderbird 3.0.4 from lucid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/556888 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
