Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg-common
When starting X the below error occurs: Fatal server error: xf86MapPciMem: Could not mmap PCI memory Inappropiate ioctl for device it is also discussed in this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=307406 However the fix no longer works in Feisty. After the fix this error occurs: Fatal server error: Unable to load required base modules, Exiting... Reading through the log it complains about modules that it tries to load are newer than the server version and module requirement mismatch. So I guess the modules are now to new for the copied Xorg. I had hoped that this bug that existed in Edgy would had been fixed in Feisty but it appears not. regards, Mico ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Xorg failes to start on sparc https://launchpad.net/bugs/93041 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
