I am using an antique American Megatrends PIII 500 motherboard in a
dektop PC. Win98 powered down OK. I have installed Edgy and it seems
to stop all processing, and unmounts the filesystem but there is an
UBUNTU display left on the monitor after shutdown stops. The little
click that normally powers it down clicks but without effect. A
momentary touch of the power-on button will usually stop the power
supply. If I hold the button for more than a mere touch it restarts.
I mostly logged the bug so I could get email notification if somebody
figures it out. Power down is also a problem on my Dell Inspiron 7000
laptop (about the same age). Win98 didn't have a problem there either.
