I have the same problem using Lucid Beta1 - except that it's intermittent. It's been happening since Beta1 and with updates done daily. I do the normal boot, usually works fine. Every now and then it freezes. I removed 'quiet spash' and it ends as described above at "Checking battery status...".
I have 10.04 running off an external USB One-touch 100GB Maxtor. I haven't tried it on my internal hard drive. Computer Dell Inspiron 6400, T2400 1.8Ghz, ATI X1300 mobility radeon, 1GB ram. I created a thread in the Lucid Lynx Testing and Discussion forum: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=9071079 -- Karmic freezes when booting from usb hard disk drive https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/480558 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
