Ok. I did not have the openprinting-ppds package installed. Now I get an entry for 4250 Laserjet. Perhaps I should have made the title of this bug more precise by saying that the Foomatic version is not listed if one does not have the openprinting-ppds package installed. Try purging it from your system and see if you can get the foomatic version listed in the CUPS web interface.
