Interestingly, my system is 64bit. However, I've seen the update- notifier icon like usual once or twice now. However, thats not to say something isn't off still. If I do apt-get update and the update- notifier shows up grayed out, why doesn't it appear orange immediately afterwards to show me updates are available when it knows updates are available?
