Playing with Ubuntu One for a while I found files such as backups (mydoc.txt~) and hidden files such as .bashrc are synchronized too. I believe temporary files and generated files (python .pyc files, java .class files and version control files such as .svn or CVS) are synchronized too. So, what if I add a netbeans java project to Ubuntu One? Everytime I compile the project Ubuntu One wil synchronize a lot of files, right? This will overload the servers with unnecessary traffic. So, ignore file filters would be good, and, Manual synchronization should be advisable (I save files a lot when I'm working with them). Maybe a warning before shutting down the system would be nice if manual synchronization is enabled ("# files have been modified, synchronize before shutdown?"). - - ProblemType: Bug - .home.juan..cache.ubuntuone.log.oauth.login.log: - Iniciando el cliente de Ubuntu One versión 1.0.2 - Iniciando el cliente de Ubuntu One versión 1.0.2 - .home.juan..cache.ubuntuone.log.syncdaemon.exceptions.log: - - .home.juan..config.ubuntuone.ubuntuone.client.conf: - [ubuntuone] - connected = False - connect = 0 - show_applet = 0 - bookmarked = True - Architecture: amd64 - Date: Wed Oct 28 00:11:37 2009 - DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 - InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release Candidate amd64 (20091020.3) - NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia - Package: ubuntuone-client 1.0.2-0ubuntu1 - PackageArchitecture: all - ProcEnviron: - LANG=es_PE.UTF-8 - SHELL=/bin/bash - ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-14.48-generic - SourcePackage: ubuntuone-client - Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic x86_64 ** Attachment removed: "Dependencies.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/34512055/Dependencies.txt ** Attachment removed: "UbuntuoneClientPackages.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/34512056/UbuntuoneClientPackages.txt ** Attachment removed: "XsessionErrors.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/34512058/XsessionErrors.txt ** Changed in: ubuntuone-client Status: Confirmed => Fix Committed ** Changed in: ubuntuone-client (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Fix Committed -- Some file types must be ignored (backups, vcs...) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/462407 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
