Some more findings of mine: 1) this bug also occurs on an intel 4965 wireless card in ubuntu standard install. 2) this bug also occurs when I use wicd in ubuntu (GNOME). 3) this bug does NOT occur in Kubuntu 10.04 beta 1 using knetworkmanager.
So I guess I'm switching to Kubuntu now. :) But I really hope this helps the developers find the issue, maybe it's a problem in one of the GNOME wireless libs?
