@Anisse: Thanks for running through all that and pointing out the discrepancy with the tiacx firmware files. In short, the acx100 driver seems dead. They haven't released anything in two years, and I doubt that the source would build against the current kernel. It seems we shipped the acx100 driver at least up to 7.10, but there doesn't appear to be any use beyond that: http://acx100.sourceforge.net/wiki/Distribution_list/Ubuntu. Thus, it seems appropriate to drop it from Lucid's linux-firmware package.
