Public bug reported: Binary package hint: plymouth
Hangs at the ugly purple Plymouth splash screen with 4 dots lit. I never see the login prompt I am running the nightly build, upgraded from 9.10 CPU: Core i7/940 with 12G of RAM Motherboard: Asus P6T Deluxe Graphics: Powercolor HD5970 Monitor: Samsung Syncmaster 2443BW I tried booting with and without the fglrx drivers, no joy in either case. I have seen other bug reports regarding boot hangs, but they were not using ATI cards or drivers. I was able to edit the grub boot configuration and re-enable the grub menu, so I am able to get a root "rescue" prompt. I can boot into that ok, but as soon as I try to resume normal boot the result is always a hang. ** Affects: plymouth (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Lucid Lynx 64 bit nightly build hands on boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/552644 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
