Hi John,

I had the same Problem with Ubuntu and Kubuntu Version 6.06 on my
Laptop. 

In my opinion, the easiest way to fix that problem is to install the
Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft Version. 

There is no other solution at the moment to fix that issue in a
easy-to-use manner.
