I've also tried model=toshiba, but it did not fix the problem. Anyway, I have discovered that the problem is fixed after returning from suspend (to ram). After a reboot there is the hiccup again. Putting the computer to suspend mode and reactivating it fixes the problem, i.e. I don't notice any hiccup.
