I am using 2.6.31-20-generic #58-Ubuntu kernel as of now and am regularly keeping up with the updates, how do I/Do I test the latest upstream kernel without crashing my system? I have no idea. And as for trying out the development release, I want to wait till the release of 10.04 LTS before I try installing the distro and check for the existence of the same bug. Will the bug be reproducible in a Live boot session of the development release, if it is still there? In that case, I can try that and report back
