Public bug reported: Don't know whose fault this is (BIOS or Ubuntu or Acer) but when the CPU is under heavy load (e.g. Flash) it regularly goes to above 80C - which shouldn't be happening, as the fan ought to kick in. Something along the way is stopping this (whether it be the ACPI or the drivers). I have noticed it especially on Lucid. In Karmic, when I tilt the laptop to the right, the fan tends to go on more often, but this doesn't happen on Lucid. The fan needs to be switched on perhaps above 40 or 50 C, but the fact that it isn't kicking in above 80 (and Ubuntu regularly shuts down because of it getting over 85) is worrying.
