Binary package hint: plymouth
Plymouth does not seem to be displaying properly.
I select the latest kernel install from grub, I get a blank screen with
flashing cursor for a few seconds at the top of my screen.
After this, what appears to be a very low resolution Ubuntu icon is
displayed on the purple background for about 1 second after which I am
brought to the login screen.
This problem occurred after I performed all updates leaving none behind.
