I've done the install with 9.10 a few times on the same laptop. The first two times, suspend worked fine (I did not try to hibernate). I decided to try Linux Mint...didn't like it and reinstalled Umbuntu. Since then, I have not been able to suspend properly even using the same install CD (downloaded Jan 17, 2010). My laptop is HP Compaq 6910p.
