In other words, in order to achieve a unified framework, make developers unable to use it, so they will have to use _another_ framework. LOL. Doesn't that strike you as defying the very goal you were aiming for? :) The only way you can realistically achieve the above is if all the applications that can't use notify-osd are not available for Ubuntu.
