I have tested Eclipse in Debian with openjdk 6b18~pre3-1:

I works with net.ipv6.bindv6only=0 but it does not work with
net.ipv6.bindv6only=1. I am quite sure that this is a bug in eclipse or
one of the libraries it is using and it can't be fixed in OpenJDK. Every
non broken test works with net.ipv6.bindv6only=1 but I am unable to
debug eclipse. I cannot even find the source code that fails with
java.net.ConnectException.

Does Ubuntu set net.ipv6.bindv6only=1 by default?
