Ivan, Could you add my ppa to your source.list (refer to https://edge.launchpad.net/+help/soyuz/ppa-sources-list.html if you don't know how), and just install gnome-bluetooth, then kill bluetooth- applet.
Check if it works better. Else could you also try the ubuntu 10.04 beta on a live CD in order to know if it works better?
