The output is: python-scipy: Depends: python-numpy (>= 1:1.2.0) but it is not going to be installed Depends: libblas3gf but it is not going to be installed or libblas.so.3gf or libatlas3gf-base but it is not going to be installed Depends: libgfortran3 (>= 4.3) but it is not going to be installed Depends: liblapack3gf but it is not going to be installed or liblapack.so.3gf or libatlas3gf-base but it is not going to be installed Depends: libumfpack5.4.0 (>= 1:3.4.0) but it is not going to be installed Recommends: g++ but it is not going to be installed or c++-compiler E: Broken packages When trying to manually install libgfortran3 I get: libgfortran3: Depends: gcc-4.4-base (=4.4.1-4ubuntu8) but 4.4.1-4ubuntu9 is to be installed I remember having the identical problem on 8.10.
