Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity
This was tested on Lucid beta1. When using the "Quit" button from the installer, the confirmation dialogue appears with the "Cancel" and "Quit" options. The main installer window remains behind the confirmation dialogue. When cancelling, the installer remains active. However, when using the window manager quit button, the main installer window closes immediately and only the confirmation dialogue appears (as in the attached image). Clicking on the cancel button does not make the installer reappear. This happens in the cases, where: a) the installer starts automatically when there was no user interaction on boot (i.e. not using the boot menu). In this case the system remains in an unusable state, where only the desktop appears. This is also an issue when selecting "Install Ubuntu" from the boot menu. b) the installer is started manually from the desktop icon, when having started the live system. This is also an issue when selecting "Try Ubuntu" from the installer. ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [lucid] Closing the installer from the window manager button, closes main window immediately https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/543775 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
