Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
For the last month, X has failed to start and brought up the 'safemode'
window asking me to pick a new config, load in safe mode, etc... None
of the options worked.
So for the last month, I have been exiting out of that dialog box,
logging in at the console and running 'startx'.
I do an 'apt-get dist-upgrade' every few days to make sure I'm testing
the latest builds. The updates killed X.
I get a few lines that say:
(EE) intel(0): [drm] failed to set drm interface version.
(EE) intel(0): Failed to become DRM master
(EE) intel(0): failed to get resources: Bad file descriptor
(EE) intel(0): Kernel modesetting setup failed
(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration
I have no /etc/X11/xorg.conf, so if I understand it correctly, X should
be auto-detecting my settings.
