Hello, I am one of the main devs for FCEU (especially the SDL port).

To be completely frank, fceu 0.9x is broken in a lot of ways, and is not
even maintained.

FceuX is fceu 2.0 (name change, same upstream devs/project)

a lot of the sound stuff has been fixed in fceuX 2.0 along with fixes
for a ton of other issues.

I remember that I used to run aoss fceu /rom/file/stuff/yeah/ and my
sound would be fine

The latest subversion revision of fceuX is having no issues with
slowdown or any audio issues whatsover on Ubuntu 10.04. On 9.10, fceux
needs to be using the SDL_AUDIODRIVER=esd driver to work without a
slowdown. Not sure if that solution will work with fceu as well.

I'd love to go into more detail but I am on vacation but just happened
to browse across this. I'd like to do anything I can to get a working
(sound and all) version of fceuX in the debian/ubuntu repos

I will return on the 23rd and I will investiage this to the fullest and
hopefully we can find a solution. If you don't hear from me I may have
forgotten so I would really appreciate it if someone pinged me via email
at some point so I can try to resolve this.

Thanks!
