Ok, I'll admit this a little daunting and I don't really have the time to start cloning the kernel git repo and installing different kernels. I will say though that I said something untrue earlier on, I *do* have the "sky2 0000:02:00.0: eth0: phy I/O error" line in my dmesg output.
