Public bug reported: Binary package hint: plymouth
I noticed that while Ubuntu is booting, plymouthd very often failed on segfault: /var/log/syslog -------------------- Mar 17 13:36:51 turion kernel: [ 26.901760] plymouthd[355]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f9976d19bdb sp 00007fffd61174a8 error 6 in libc-2.11.1.so[7f9976c93000+178000] It's not reproducible reliably, but it happens very often. I don't know what functionality is affected. I don't see any problem (except the syslog) My command line: kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.32-16-generic root=UUID=5564d628-8fc2-42b9-ba8d-cb1b7937a3e8 ro Used SW: ------------- Ubuntu 10.04, amd64 kernel: 2.6.32-16-generic plymouth: 0.8.0~-16 Gnome: 2.29.92 ** Affects: plymouth (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- plymouthd segfault error 6 in libc-2.11.1.so https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/540237 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
