I want to play xvid videos using gxine. I think libxine1-ffmpeg will help me. Right now, I can hear the music, but not see the video.
libxine1-fffmpeg version 1.1.11.1-1ubuntu3 is dependent on libxine1-bin version (=1.1.11.1-1ubuntu3), but libxine1-bin version 1.1.11.1-1ubuntu3.4 is already installed. It comes from hardy-updates, and my settings for version selection is to prefer the highest version number. (isn't that the default?) Also libxine1 is of version 1.1.11.1-1ubuntu3.4. I have amarok installed, if that matters.
