Hi jeremy,

I found a work around soon after posting the bug but forgot about the bug
report on launchpad. Anyway below is a few emails that fixed the issue.

This is the message that was sent:

Hi mate,

I finally made it work. After screwing up my linux enough, I simply
reinstalled from scratch (9.04 AMD64), and added the following like:

options snd-hda-intel model=dell-m6

to this:

sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

That's it! Everything is working, except I can't make my microphone to
work.

Thanks anyway for your prompt reply, and sorry for taking so much time to
answer.

Fastjack

P.S. I'm still having weird stuff happening with the video, especially with
games. I think it has something to do with the 64-bit version.

Gday mate

I did get sound to work yesterday finally. The problem is the kernel with
the jaunty release does not work - with the sound card anyway.

I installed the 8.10 intrepid kernel 2.6.27.23. No sound works i havnt tried
headphones yet.
