I can confirm lockups with rt61 driver loaded. I have a ralink card in a
computer:
04:08.0 Network controller: RaLink RT2561/RT61 802.11g PCI

When the rt61 driver is loaded the computer locks up sometimes during
boot, sometimes after a few minutes of usage, and even sometimes after a
couple of hours.

When using a graphical environment, I experience the same symptoms as
the poster. The keyboard hangs first, mouse still works a couple of
seconds, soon everything is locked.

I once got the following message in a virtual console just before the hang:
soft lockup on cpu#0

I have a dual core Athlon X2 processor (SMP-related problem??)

Without the rt61 module loaded, the system is completely stable. I have
now deleted the ko file to ensure it doesn't get loaded by accident
until the problem is resolved.
