Seeing as it seems to work for everyone else (me included), chances are that you are doing something wrong.
Could you quickly open a terminal and issue the command: GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=1 eclipse If you aren't using the Ubuntu-provided eclipse, substitute the path to the eclipse executable for "eclipse". If it works that way, you definitely were doing something wrong before.
