With 13-Mar-2010 iso I have the same problem. "ubi-console-setup failed with exit code 141. Further information may be found in /var/log/syslog. Do you want to try running this step again before continuing? If you do not, your installation may fail entirely or may be broken."
The ubiquity version is 2.1.35. I noticed that when I start kubuntu ubiquity I have this message: Configuration file "/root/.kde/share/config/kubuntu-ubiquityrc" not writable.
