Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati
I just upgrade Ubuntu on my laptop to Lucid Alpha 3. The dist-upgrade with update-manager went OK. After the reboot, the Plymouth horizontal progress bar appears at the bottom of the screeen, it reaches the end and then nothing happens. My xorg.conf was modified during the upgrade. No fglrx driver was loaded - I mean that the relevant Driver line in xorg.conf was commented out by the installer. I also tried to boot with an empty xorg.conf. Same result. Xorg.0.log is empty. I am only attaching last 1000 lines of messages log. # lspci | grep VGA 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc M92 [Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series] ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [lucid] No X after upgrade to Alpha 3 on ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4500 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/538362 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
