A quick test shows that -acodec *does* use libvorbis, whereas the status line says 'vorbis' anyway. This is because that line indicates the CodecID, not the used encoder (I just checked the source, see av_find_stream_info in libavformat/utils.c, it uses avcodec_find_encoder via avcodec_string in libavcodec/utils.c).
I therefore come to the conclusion that this is not a bug at all. ** Changed in: ffmpeg-debian (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: ffmpeg Importance: Unknown => Undecided ** Changed in: ffmpeg Status: Confirmed => New ** Changed in: ffmpeg Remote watch: FFMpeg Roundup #643 => None ** Changed in: ffmpeg Status: New => Invalid -- Never uses libvorbis, even if -acodec libvorbis is specified. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/314829 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
