Well i seem to have resolved the problem. I noticed as soon as i selected the OS from Grub a brief message flashed on the screen saying "Vga=769 is deprecated. Use set gfxpayload=640x480x8, 640x480 before linux comm and instead." Once i resolved that i no longer received the error message. Thanks for all your help,
