I have a problem that might possibly be related. My HDA family device (I presume it is so, as it uses the snd_hda_codec and snd_hda_intel modules,) does not display a "master" mixer either. In my case, it makes the internal speakers borderline unusable, as the default volume for them is far too low to be useful, and additionally, it forces me to max out the PCM volume to get anything at all, which seems to impact audio quality. If you could guide me in the direction of any more useful information I could provide, I would gladly do so.
