yes sorry i should have said that i have done a clean install in the past. This build is from a clean install. I have been backwards and forwards from 9.04 to 9.10 a few times 4 months trying to fix various and numerous anoyances and bugs.
I just booted up into a live image which has 2.6.31-14 kernel. It reboots no problem so that good. I still have that kernel on the system so i booted up into that from grub but have the same reboot issue. So it's to do with a package in my system that is not in the live distro? I suspect that this might be to do with HAL not shutting down properly but not sure how to move forward on that. Also, on each boot i get a message on the splash screen saying that one or more mounts in fstab could not be mounted, usually my /home, it then just boots up anyway and is fine. I have fsck'd /home and it's fine. I dont think that is related but maybe worth mentioning. -- [Karmic] Hangs during shutdown with kernel 2.6.31-7 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/418509 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
