Thank you very much for your hints Charlie. At _first_ it looked like this:
I cannot go to http://localhost/ampache because apache will not restart. This is due to the missing file "/etc/ampache/ampache.conf ". After apt-get install ampache ampache_3.5.1-1ubuntu2_all.deb and ampache-themes_3.4.3-0ubuntu1_all.deb is installed Also a symlink "ampache" is created for ampache.conf in "/etc/apache2/conf.d/": This symlink points to the missing file "/etc/ampache/ampache.conf ". However then I noticed: The symlink remained after apt-get purge ampache. Probably the reason why the file didn't get created. Now I deleted the symlink manually "rm /etc/apache2/conf.d/ampache". Now I was able to complete the setup properly. _But_: If I now purge the package the symlink does not get removed. So this means if I upgrade or remove the package and reinstall it the error is caused. _Furthermore_: A small thing - during the install it asks for permission to restart apache. I said "yes", but it didn't. It seems like a small error in the uninstall routine? I would suggest to upgrade to installer to note that the symlink might not have gotten properly removed and do this before upgrading? thanks again :-) -- ampache fails to create ampache.conf https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/533989 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
